Norwich City are reportedly looking to land Fiorentina defender Marcos Alonso before the end of the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old, whose current deal with the Viola is set to expire in June 2016, has been linked with a possible move away from the Italian club as of late due to the short amount of time left on his contract and it seems like the newly promoted Premier League side is ready to make a bid for him.

According to Metro, Norwich would be willing to make an offer of around €5 million for the Spanish left-back as they work to strengthen their defence ahead of the approaching 2015-16 campaign.

Alonso, who came up through Real Madrid’s youth system and has previously spent time in England’s top tier with both Sunderland and Bolton Wanderers, managed to score one goal and provide three assists in his 22 Serie A appearances for the Gigliati last term.
