Palermo have made another addition to their squad ahead of the 2015-16 Serie A season after signing central defender Abdelhamid El Kaoutari from Ligue 1 side Montpellier.

The Morocco international is the 15th summer arrival at the Stadio Renzo Barbera after the Rosanero paid a €2 million transfer fee to secure his signature.

Sky Sport Italia reports that the 25-year-old has agreed on a four-year contract with the Sicilian side and will join up with his new team-mates at their pre-season camp at Ponte di Legno in the northern province of Lombardy.

The defender has spent his entire career at Montpellier and was part of the side that won the Ligue 1 title in 2011-12.

El Kaoutari was almost an ever-present for the southern French side after missing only one league match in the entire 2014-15 season.

Palermo have already completed a number of signings so far this summer, including Sweden Under-21 captain Oscar Hiljemark from PSV Eindhoven and Matheus Cassini from Corinthians.
