Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has denied reports linking goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu with a summer exit.
PSG recently completed the signing of Kevin Trapp from Eintracht Frankfurt and the former Germany U21 goalkeeper is expected to challenge Sirigu for a first team spot, leading to speculation about Sirigu’s exit
“Salvatore is a very good goalkeeper,”Al-Khelaifi told the press.
“And do not forget that in 2011 [he] was one the first to believe in our project.
“He helped us to quickly build a competitive team, and to fight for the summit in Europe [we] need more than one strong player for each role.
“Sirigu is well aware of [that].”
Sirigu joined PSG from Palermo in 2011 and has since made 142 Ligue 1 appearances in four seasons, winning three Ligue 1 titles.
He has been linked with a move to Roma, who are looking for a long term replacement for ageing goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis.
