Aston Villa new boy Micah Richards has revealed that he snubbed the chance to join Inter this summer after admitting he had already decided on returning to playing in the English Premier League.
The former Manchester City defender spent last season on loan at Fiorentina however he failed to hold down a regular place in the starting XI, something that influenced his decision to return to his home country despite having offers from other European sides, including Inter.
“There were many clubs interested in me, but having not played much with Fiorentina, I thought it was time to go home,” Richards told Eurosport.
“I had contact with Inter and [Roberto] Mancini who tried to take me to Milan as early as January, but nothing came of it.
“I then talked to him about next season, however I had already made the choice to return to England.”
