Roma met with Augsburg officials on Tuesday to discuss a potential move for talented left-back Baba Rahman.

Although the Giallorossi attack has garnered the most attention this summer, the Olimpico-based club have shifted their attention to defence and are courting the Ghanaian starlet the as a potential replacement for Jose Holebas who was recently sold to Watford.

According to SportItalia, a meeting was held in Germany on Tuesday between representatives of the two clubs regarding the 21-year-old, but Augsburg remain steadfast on receiving €20 million for his services.

Baba came to prominence with his strong, consistent performances last season, which helped his team finish in fifth place and earn themselves a place in the group stage of the Europa League, which will be a debut in European competition in the club’s 108-year history.

The 2014/15 campaign also saw the youngster making a name for himself on the international stage by playing every minute of the 2015 African Cup of Nations, only to live the heartbreak of the Black Stars losing the final to Ivory Coast on penalties.
