Roma are close to making an official offer for Barcelona’s Adriano.

The Giallorossi are on the lookout for a left back having sold Jose Holebas to Watford and released Federico Balzaretti, while Ashley Cole has failed to impress since arriving from Chelsea last summer.

According to Il Tempo, Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini already has an agreement with Barcelona for a fee of €6 million for the 30-year-old and is close to submitting an offer to the Spanish champions.

Adriano managed only 16 La Liga appearances last season and is keen to move elsewhere in search of first team football.

The Brazilian international has made 106 La Liga appearances for Barcelona since joining from Sevilla in 2010.

Roma are also said to be monitoring Marcel Schmelzer, Felipe Luis, Lucas Digne, Abdul Rahman Baba and Alberto Moreno as possible new left backs.
