Sime Vrsaljko SassuoloNapoli are on the brink of completing the signing of Sassuolo defender Sime Vrsaljko.

The Partenopei have courted the Croatian international for some time now and appear to have defeated Juventus in the race to acquire the player’s services.

Gazzetta dello Sport have confirmed the impending transfer between the two sides and stated that Napoli have offered €9 million plus their Moroccan midfielder Omar El Kaddouri.

Some of the final few details are still to be smoothed out but they have also reported that sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli could announce the deal on Monday.

The only obstacle that could possibly delay the transfer would be that the Neroverdi may hold out for an increased transfer fee of €10 million.

The former Genoa player made 22 league appearances for Sassuolo last season and has featured 10 times for his country.
