Stoke City have made a huge contract offer to Inter forward Xherdan Shaqiri as they look to entice him to the club.
After having their bid of €17 million accepted by Inter on Wednesday, Stoke are now looking to press on with negotiations in an attempt to lure the player to the Britannia Stadium.
According to Tuttomercartoweb.com, Stoke are set to offer the Swiss €80,000 per week, around €6m a year, which is almost double what he earns at Inter – €3.5 per annum.
However, it is also believed that they may have to go higher due to the player’s current reluctance to move to the club. Moreover, it is expected that Shaqiri will decline Stoke’s current offer.
Shaqiri moved on loan to Inter in January with a view to a permanent deal this summer. However, it looks like the winger may leave Inter after just half a season at the club.
