Tavecchio worried by Inter and AC Milan’s summer spending
The Nerazzurri have already splashed €30 million on midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia as well as bringing in Portuguese defender Miranda, despite being fined €20m for UEFA financial fair play breaches in May and placed under restrictions; Milan meanwhile have spent around €50m on Andrea Bertolacci and Carlos Bacca.
Speaking to Gazzetta TV, the 71-year-old stated: “I’m worried about the investments made by Milan and Inter.
“The finances of these two clubs should not allow these magnitude of expenses, unless there is money there without my knowledge.”
Large investment in the Milan rivals has come from Asia in recent years with Indonesian billionaire Erick Thohir entering his third year in charge of the Biscione and the Rossoneri recently receiving investment from private equity magnate Bee Taechaubol.
“Perhaps some people think they can fund team expenses from their own back pocket,” Tavecchio continued, “but we are talking about men of honour.”
