Former Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso is wanted by English Premier League club West Ham United after he rejected the chance to renew his contract with Leicester City.

The Argentine received praise last season for his contribution in the English Premier League at the heart of the Foxes midfield.

The 34-year-old’s performances in England have impressed the Hammers hierarchy so much so that according to English newspaper the Daily Mirror, the East London side are in pole position to secure Cambiasso’s signature.

Cambiasso made 31 appearances for Leicester last season scoring five goals as the Foxes successfully avoided relegation. Claudio Ranieri has failed to convince the former Real Madrid player to extend his stay in the midlands.

The Argentine was also part of the great treble winning Inter side of 2010. During his time at the Nerazzurri, Cambiasso won 15 trophies including five Serie A titles.
