Ravel Morrison’s Lazio career is continuing to get off to a difficult start after he suffered a potentially serious injury in a friendly fixture.
The English youth international had been in good form in pre-season but was forced off after just 20 minutes during Lazio’s 1-0 defeat to Serie B side Vicenza.
According to Il Messaggero, Morrison suffered an injury to his ankle that has Lazio coach Stefano Pioli and the physiotherapy team worried that he may suffered serious damage to his ligaments.
Morrison will now miss the Biancocelesti’s friendly meeting with Anderlecht in Brussels and the former West Ham United man is now at risk of being forced out of the Supercoppa Italiana meeting with Juventus in Shanghai on August 8.
Morrison made a difficult start to his Lazio career after being linked with an immediate move back to England but the club’s faith in him appeared to pay off following a number of goals in pre-season before the latest setback through injury.
