Cerci - AC MilanAC Milan outcast Alessio Cerci will stay at the club and fight for a place in the first team.

The 28 year-old joined the Rossoneri on a two-year loan deal from Atletico Madrid, a deal that saw striker Fernando Torres go in the opposite direction.

According to Tuttosport the former Torino talisman has been removed from the transfer market, with coach Sinisa Mihajlovic prepared to allow Cerci to fight for a place in the team.

Milan recently lost forward M’Baye Niang to injury, and with the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic looking increasingly unlikely, the club are happy to stick with the Italian international.

Genoa and former club Torino had shown the most interest in Cerci, but the player himself has rejected the proposal and wants to stay at Milan until at least January.

Should his role in the first team not improve, then he can reevaluate his future in January, a decision that Mihajlovic supports.
