Massimiliano Allegri Juventus coach  believes his side need to improve in certain areas after yet another pre-season loss.

The 2014/15 champions looked below par during their 2-0 friendly defeat to French side and despite defending his team’s performance, Allegri believes more work needs to be done ahead of their Supercoppa Italian clash against Lazio.

“I’m happy with the reaction of the team during the match,” Allegri said after the game.

“We played well in the first 20 minutes and we had a good shape.

“However we suffered on the counter attack, which is how we conceded the two goals.

“We need to improve the conditions and quality of our game. Though I knew this would be a difficult match as are much further ahead than us in terms of preparation.

“Now we have a whole week in which we need to train, though the workload wont be as heavy as the previous two weeks.”

In addition to the loss, suffered another blow as marquee singing picked up an unfortunate injury to his leg during the course of the game.

“I’m sorry for Khedira, he’s just come back after such a long period of inactivity only to suffer this new injury.

“He was doing so well and now we’ve lost an important player for the Supercoppa.”
