Atalanta side in Serie A.

La Dea forced their hosts into a desperate bombardment of the away team goal in the dying moments, but succumbed after a classy Stevan Jovetic finish beat the highly-rated Marco Sportiello.

“Losing like that does hurt pretty bad,” the veteran coach told reporters.

“Inter had already taken plenty of shots from outside the area but that was because we closed down their space well.

“It was too bad with the red card as I was going to substitute Carmona, although with eleven against eleven we played well and the dismissal distorted the game.”

Atalanta were forced to substitute talisman German Denis after just 20 minutes and former Napoli coach Reja is confident it will not be a big concern for next weekend’s game at home against Frosinone.

“I do not know if it was particularly painful,” the 69-year-old continued, “but it will not be a big problem.

“I’m pleased with our threat from the wings and the team has played well, I would like just a little more cynicism in attack.

“[Inter] have great players from a physical point of view and can have a good season.”
