Javier Mascherano ArgentinaThe agent of Barcelona’s Javier Mascherano announced that his client is keen on a move to Serie A as he seeks a new experience.

Agent Gustavo Mascardi admitted that he has spoken with Juventus, AC Milan and Inter and is still to speak with Roma, although Mascherano is yet to decide on who he would like to join.

“Today I will meet with [Roma sporting director Walter] Sabatini and we will talk about everything, including Mascherano,” said Mascardi to LaRoma24.it.

“I’ve already spoke with [Giuseppe] Marotta of Juventus but the negotiations stopped because [Barcelona sporting director Ariedo] Braida told the Bianconeri directors that he wouldn’t let Mascherano leave.

“Yesterday, I went to dinner with Braida and told him that the boy wants a change of scenery and that he would prefer to move to Italy.

“Javier will go and speak personally with the Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu just to encourage a concrete offer to come in from an Italian side, his desire is to come and play in Serie A.”

Mascardi was also asked if Roma are in the lead to sign the Argentine international.

“No, at the moment no team is his first choice,” said Mascardi.

“Inter are the club that have come forwards to us the most but there is still no first choice.

“The situation is clear and anything or nothing could happen.

“I have spoken about the player with [AC Milan’s vice-president Adriano] Galliani, [Inter director Piero] Ausilio, Marotta and Sabatini.”

The agent was also asked if he would discuss Juan Iturbe’s future at Roma with Sabatini.

“No, I will talk about everything with him [Sabatini] but not about Iturbe who will stay at Roma,” said Mascardi.
