koulibaly napoliNapoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly could be on his way to Bayer Leverkusen, if the Germans can qualify for the Champions League.

The 24-year-old joined the Azzurri after an impressive spell with Genk, appearing 34 times at the heart of the Napoli defence during the 2014-15 season.

However, the Frenchman could be on his way after Leverkusen came in for the centre-back; offering €12 million according to Calcionews24.com, although the Partnenopei are understood to be holding out for closer to €15m.

The Bundesliga’s side interest in the deal is high, with the likes of Southampton also monitoring Koulibaly, and it is thought that qualification for the Champions League would guarantee Bayer’s interest in completing the deal.

The Bundesliga side must overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit against Serie A outfit Lazio at the BayArena.

Coach Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli have already bought in Vlad Chiriches from Tottenham Hostpur to complement Henrique and Raul Albiol in central defence, but may find themselves short if they cannot replace Koulibaly.
