Newly promoted Serie A side Bologna are looking to strengthen their attacking lineup through Roma forward Mattia Destro.

The Italian was considered an up and coming star at Roma before being shipped out on loan to AC Milan due to a lack of playing time, but the 24-year-old failed to convince at Milan, leaving his future up in the air.

According to Il Corriere di Bologna, Bologna’s director Pantaleo Corvino is keen to pick up the player to aid his side in a fight for Serie A survival.

The report cites that the Bologna management believe that they can close the deal with Destro soon despite Roma’s high asking price, as the player’s agent also appears to be pushing for a done deal.

Destro himself is eager for a move away from Roma, but is believed to wish for a permanent transfer rather than being loaned out again.
