Destro - Fiorentina v AC MilanBologna have offered Roma striker Mattia Destro a long-term contract in an attempt to lure him to Emilia-Romagna.

The Italian has turned down moves to Monaco and West Ham United in the summer as the Giallorossi seek to take the ex-Genoa man off their wage bill, but the Veltri face continued opposition from the Grifone and Premier League side Norwich City in their attempts to sign Destro.

To seal the deal, Bologna are offering €1.8 million – up on his current €1.5m salary – on a five-year contract at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, according to Sportitalia.

A deal in principle has been agreed with Roma, for whom the 24-year-old netted five times in 18 games during the first part of 2014-15 before being shipped out on loan to AC Milan, where he could only yield a further three goals from 15 outings with the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza side.
