Cagliari midfielder Godfred Donsah looks set to stay with the Italian club.
The Ghanaian starlet has attracted interest from several clubs around Europe following his performances last season and had been linked with a move to English Premier League side Chelsea, but this has now been ruled out following the president of Cagliari saying he needs to remain with the Italian side.
“We discussed him with Chelsea a few weeks ago but I am stunned by all these rumours about him,” Tommaso Giulini, the president of Cagliari, said, as reported by the Daily Mail.
“The player needs to grow here, with us.”
The 19-year-old had also been linked with moves to English clubs Tottenham and Arsenal before as well as Serie A teams Juventus and Bologna.
Donsah joined Cagliari in 2014 from Palermo and has scored twice in 23 games for the Rossoblu.
