Chievo striker Alberto Paloschi has said the Gialloblu are aiming to survive relegation this season as well as saying he is intrigued by the signings of Edin Dzeko and Carlos Bacca.

The Gialloblu impressed in Serie A last season with their defensive organisation as they managed to concede only 41 goals, but Paloschi is more concerned with the side’s attacking threat

“I would like to beat my record of 13 goals in a single season in Serie A, or at least equal it,” Paloschi told reporters ahead of Chievo’s Serie A opener against Roma.

“Both the last two seasons I scored a lot more in the second half of the season, this year I would like a better start.

“The Stadio Olimpico and the San Siro are my favourite stadiums, but the best place is the Juventus Stadium, where I never scored, I hope to do that this year.”

The Italian said he was also eager to see how Edin Dzeko and Carlos Bacca do this season.

“I’m curious to see the work of the new strikers in Serie A, Bacca at AC Milan and Dzeko at Roma.”

“They have always scored a lot, we will see if they can do the same in Italy.

“Chievo’s season? We want to start strong, we aim to survive relegation. We know each other well and this is an advantage.”
