Alessandro Diamanti FiorentinaAlessandro Diamanti has successfully completed his medical ahead of his proposed move to Watford from Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.

The 32-year-old most recently played on loan at Fiorentina from January 2015 onward, but is now ready to try his hand at English football again following a previous spell with West Ham United.

According to Sky Sports, the Italian has passed his medical and will become the 12th summer signing of the Hornets ahead of their 2015-16 Premier League season.

Diamanti’s most successful time in terms of goalscoring came at Livorno where he found the net 24 times, and he returns to England with only eight goals to his name for the Hammers.

The forward became captain of Bologna during his three-year stay there, but opted to move to China in 2014 where he met former Rossoblu teammate Alberto Gilardino.

Both Italians ended up on loan with La Viola during the 2014-15 season, with Diamanti the first to move on from his time with Guangzhou and start afresh with a new club in the shape of Watford.
