Fiorentina are set to announce the signing of Dnipro striker Nikola Kalinic, with a deal to be confirmed imminently.

The Viola had been hoping to add another attacker to their ranks after sending Mario Gomez out on loan to Besiktas and the ongoing injury concerns surrounding Giuseppe Rossi.

Sky Sport Italia report that a deal is close for Croatian striker Kalinic, with the former Blackburn Rovers man set to officially sign for Paulo Sousa’s men shortly.

An agreement has already been made between the Viola and Ukrainian outfit Dnipro, with just a playing contract to be confirmed.

Kalinic was part of the Dnipro squad which made the Europa League final in May, eventually succumbing to a 3-2 defeat. The striker opened the scoring in the match but could not lead the Ukrainians to victory.
