Fiorentina are currently in the midst of securing their 16-year-old starlet Abdou Diakhate on a new deal, while additionally proposing a new contract to key player Matias Fernandez.

The teenage sensation has stirred up a great deal of interest after breaking into the Fiorentina first team during pre-season training, forcing the Viola to take steps to try and keep their home-grown talent.

According to La Nazione, Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has moved hastily to offer the Senegalese talent his first ever professional contract, which should tie him to the club for the next few years.

The reason for the haste is said to be due to ‘Super-Agent’ Carmine Raiola, as the Viola look to keep one step ahead of the agent who could potentially offer the youngster a more lucrative deal.

Meanwhile the club are close to confirming a contract extension until 2019 with Chile international Fernandez, who has only recently returned from an extended break after his participation in the Copa America.

Spanish defender Marcos Alonso is also considered for a new contract, though it must first be seen whether the Tuscan side retain his services, as English team Norwich City are said to be lining up a hefty bid.
