Torino at the Stadio Matusa on Sunday night while the visitors claimed the perfect start to their season.

Danilo Soddimo opened the scoring early on, sending the home fans into dreamland but Torino’s experience showed and goals from Fabio Quagliarella and Daniele Baselli quickly turned the game around.

Frosinone’s first ever top-flight game got off to a perfect start when Soddimo scored after he directed a Luca Paganini cross into the back of the net and caused hysteria among fans within the Stadio Matusa after just seven minutes.

Torino reacted quickly and thought they had scored but Quagliarella was ruled just offside and the visitors remained behind.

Some fantastic defending then kept out another possible Torino goal, whether intentional or not, when Aleandro Rosi got in the way of another Quagliarella effort which was destined to bounce into the net.

They kept pressing but couldn’t crack the hosts’ defence and Roberto Stellone’s men went into the break with a shock lead after a positive first half.

Giampiero Ventura’s half-time team-talk certainly worked as Italian international Quagliarella finally got his name on the score sheet when he got the crucial touch on a Danilo Avelar cross to get his side back on level terms.

Following a short corner, the comeback was complete. Daniele Baselli was presented with the ball on the edge of the area and his curling shot kissed the post before finding the back of the net.

It was their first test in Serie A for Frosinone which they ultimately failed to pass and the final whistle blew giving Torino victory, taking them to fourth place in the table while Frosinone end the first weekend in 12th.
