jacopo sala veronaHellas Verona seem destined to lose Romulo and Jacopo Sala before the summer transfer window closes at the end of August.

Sala broke into Verona’s first team in the latter half of last season after some standout performances from the 23-year-old Italian in both midfield and defence, while Romulo managed only four appearances on loan at Juventus last season after injuries kept him out of the first team for the bulk of the season.

Corriere di Verona reported Tuesday that Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille lead the pack of clubs interested in Romulo, with Napoli, Fiorentina and Inter in line to sign the €7 million-rated Sala.

Once hailed as one of the gems of Chelsea’s youth academy, Sala failed to live up that original hype and went on to play two disappointing seasons for Hamburg before his move to Verona in 2013.

Before making the loan move to the Bianconeri, Romulo impressed at Verona, attracting the attention of the Scudetto holders.
