Inter have been dealt a blow in their hopes to sign Zenit St Petersburg defender Domenico Criscito.

The Italian left-back has been heavily linked with a move to the Nerazzurri over recent weeks but the Italian side might have to look elsewhere for reinforcements after the player’s agent, Andrea D’Amico, said that the Russian club weren’t open to a transfer.

“Yesterday I spoke to Zenit, he is not for sale and will not go away,” D’Amico said, as reported by Sportitalia.

Criscito moved to Russia from Serie A side Genoa in 2011 and has won the Russian Premier League twice since then, grabbing eight goals in 123 games for them overall.

He has had three spells at the Rossoblu in his career after joining them from Juventus’ youth team, whom he also played for at a senior level in 2007.
