Inter are hoping to sign Bryan Cristante from Benfica.
The 20-year-old only joined the Portuguese side from AC Milan last summer but he could be on his way back to Italy.
According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Inter have targeted Cristante to bolster their midfield.
It is not sure at this stage whether Benfica would be willing to sell Cristante who they bought from Milan for €6 million.
Cristante struggled in his first season in Portugal, making just five appearances for the Lisbon based side.
The Italian youth international would not be the only midfielder to play for both Inter and AC Milan.
Clarence Seedorf and Andrea Pirlo both played for Inter before winning the Champions League for Milan.
