Xherdan Shaqiri’s move to Stoke City is set to be completed with the Inter forward passing a medical.

The Swiss winger has only been in Milan six months after a move from Bayern Munich that was heralded as a significant purchase by many at the time, although the 23-year-old’s solitary goal in 15 appearances led to being discarded by coach Roberto Mancini.

Sky Sport Italia report how Shaqiri has changed his mind, having initially being turned off by the prospect of moving to the Potters, agreeing personal terms now a medical has been passed.

The former Basel man was in the stands as Stoke lost their opening day clash with Liverpool on Sunday, and having turned down Schalke the winger’s move to England will free up the funds for the Nerazzurri’s purchase of Wolfsburg man Ivan Perisic.
