After completing his move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, Mateo Kovacic spoke of his delight at the switch whilst paying tribute to his former club Inter.
The 21-year-old has signed a six-year deal at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and was presented to fans and the media.
“Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world, I have no doubt about it, this opportunity only comes once in a lifetime,” said Kovacic to reporters at his official presentation.
The Croatian midfielder also reflected on his time at Inter and their chances moving forward.
“In life as in football there are difficult times,” said Kovacic.
“Inter have struggled lately, but it is a great club and I am sure that soon the club will return to its former glory.”
Kovavic made 80 appearances for Inter after completing a move from Dinamo Zagreb in 2013 before joining the Spanish giants.
