Lazio have a number of injury concerns going into the first leg of their Champions League qualifier against Bayer Leverkusen.

The Aquile are in with a chance of reaching the Champions League group stage following a fantastic last season in which they exceeded expectations finishing third.

However, Lazio team doctor Roberto Bianchini spoke to Lazio Style Radio about their injury situation confirming a number of players may miss the match.

“Federico Marchetti before yesterday reported a bruised right hemithorax, investigations have revealed a fracture of the last two ribs.

“Nothing very serious, however, it limits his availability because of the pain. He has started the treatment. As for his possible availability, we can know only by the day.

“Filip Djordjevic still has discomfort in the area of the bruise that he had before leaving for China. He is working to fix it. Unfortunately it is bruised badly. Even for him, day after day we will have answers.”

Despite those blows there was some good news concerning striker Miroslav Klose and full-back Edson Braafheid.

“Miroslav Klose is fine for the game. Edson Braafheid has continued the recovery phase which he had already started.

“This recovery phase is going well, in the coming days he will return to the group.
