Lazio ultras have released a statement venting their anger at the staging of the 2015 Supercoppa Italiana against Juventus in Shanghai, stating that they will refuse to make the long trip to China.
The match between the two sides will take place next Saturday in the 57 000 capacity Shanghai Stadium with the Curva Nord hardcore refusing to attend the game.
“The ultras of Lazio have chosen not to attend the Supercoppa Italiana, a choice taken reluctantly, but it seems the only possible option,” read a statement from the Curva Nord ultras.
“At a time like this it is unthinkable to believe that thousands of other fans would fly half way around the world for a football game.
“For a national cup final, the choice of location was dictated to us by the usual interests, to which we are now accustomed, and to which we want to have no association with in any way.”
