Napoli midfielder Gokhan Inler could be set for a move away from Serie A to Premier League side Leicester City.
The Swiss international has been linked with a move away from the Stadio San Paolo throughout the summer, with new Foxes coach Claudio Ranieri believed to be interested in bringing the 31-year-old to the club.
According to Tuttomercatoweb.it, Inler could arrive in England as early as Monday to discuss the terms of a move to the King Power Stadium.
The midfielder had been linked with a move to German Bundesliga side Schalke and it was rumoured that he would prefer a move to an established European team. However, it would now appear that the move is no longer on the table, as the club’s General Manager, Horst Heldt said a move was unlikely.
“I do not think it is possible for Inler to come at the moment,” Heldt said.
Inler has spent the last eight years playing in Italy, having originally joined Udinese in 2007 before moving to the Partenopei in 2011.
