Balotelli liverpoolLiverpool forward Mario Balotelli might yet make a dramatic return to Serie A this season, with Sampdoria looking to start negotiations with the Italy international.

The 25-year-old has had a torrid time in the Premier League, having failed to settle at Anfield after his €22 million move from AC Milan and is unlikely to be in manager Brendan Rodger’s long term plans.

Sky Sport Italia have revealed that Blucerchiati owner Massimo Ferrero has decided to talk to the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, to sound out a possible transfer.

However, the story goes on to suggest that the flamboyant president would only be interested in making a deal if Liverpool are willing to make a contribution towards Balotelli’s €150,000 weekly wage bill.

The much-traveled former Manchester City striker managed just 16 league appearances for The Reds last season, scoring only once and it seems certain the forward will be playing his football elsewhere this year.
