Jonathan De Guzman NapoliOlympique de Marseille are looking into the possibility of signing Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman.

The French club, who are also chasing Partenopei forward Eduardo Vargas have also identified de Guzman as a potential transfer target.

According to Sportmediaset.it, Marseille have enquired about the availability of the Dutch international in order to understand if a deal can be completed.

De Guzman struggled to break into the Napoli first team last season after two successful years at Premier League side Swansea City, making just 16 appearances and scoring 6 goals including a hat-trick in a Europa League group stage match against Young Boys.

Meanwhile Marseille coach Marcelo Bielsa needs to fill the void left by key departures in attacking areas such as Andre Ayew and Andre-Pierra Gignac.

Napoli are looking to rebuild their squad under new coach Maruizio Sarri following an underwhleming season that saw the club miss out on Champions League qualification and suffer a semi-final loss against Dnipro in the Europa League.
