Jonathan De Guzman NapoliNapoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has opted to turn down a possible move to English side Bournemouth.

The 27-year-old looked poised to leave the Partenopei on the final day of Italy’s transfer window, but didn’t show up for his flight to England.

Sky Sport Italia report that the Dutchman failed to show up at the airport where Bournemouth officials would have picked him up before completing a medical.

It is reported that the midfielder had a change of heart, and has since decided to think over the decision, considering the English transfer window does not close until 11pm on September 1.

The deal itself seemed completed, with Napoli accepting a €1 million offer for an initial loan, with an option to buy set at €5 million.

De Guzman spent two years at Swansea City before plying his trade in Italy, where he has scored three goals in just over 20 appearances.
