Marios Oikonomou BolognaNapoli will have to increase their offer to 7 million if they wish to sign Bologna defender Marios Oikonomou.

The 22-year-old Greek youth international emerged as one of the Rossoblu’s heroes of their successful promotion campaign last term, and has attracted the interest of bigger clubs on the peninsula.

Corriere dello Sport reports that after the difficulties of trying to sign Barcelona’s Marc Bartra and Stuttgart’s Antonio Rudiger, Napoli have turned their attention to Oikonomou.

The Partonopei offered 5 million for the Bologna central defender last week, but were told to return with at least 7 million if they wish to continue with the transaction.

Oikonomou has a contract with the club until 2017, so the Rossoblu are in no rush to sell the coveted center-back.
