Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has confirmed in a press conference the transfer of his full-back Lucas Digne to Roma.

Liverpool have missed out as the young Frenchman will be joining Stuttgart’s Runiger as the latest additions to Giallorossi’s defence, which has seen Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa leave Serie A today for Lyon.

“Digne is going to Roma, Blanc said during his pre-match press conference ahead of the game with Ajaccio.

Calcionews24 claim that Digne has been left out of the PSG squad because he will be flying to Rome to complete a medical. The nature of the agreement is reportedly a loan with the eventual completion of a permanent transfer of a fee of around €15 million.

The 22-year-old French international made just 30 appearances for the Parisian side as he struggled to establish himself as a starter. He will be coming in as reports are simultaneously emerging of the potential departure of Ashley Cole who has failed to settle in at Roma since joining on a free transfer last summer.
