Roma defender Leandro Castan has revealed his glee ahead of his return to the Stadio Olimpico where he will play in front of the home crowd for the first time since undergoing surgery last year.
The Brazilian will return for the Giallorossi in their friendly match against Spanish side Sevilla, just seven months after going under the knife in an life threatening operation.
Through a post on his twitter account, Castan announced his delight to finally be back playing exactly a year and a day after the injury.
“What a joy it will be to return to the Olimpico after more than a year!!! God is faithful, thanks to everyone for everything!!!” His message read.

Castan’s last home match for Roma came at the end of the 2013/14 season as he only managed one game last year, which was played away to Empoli.
