Roma have confirmed Antonio Sanabria will spend next season on loan at La Liga outfit Sporting Gijon.

The 19-year-old Paraguay international has agreed a one year loan deal with the newly promoted club and will be hoping to impress in Spain following an unsuccessful spell in Rome last year.

“AS Roma have announced today that an agreement has been reached with Sporting Gijon over a loan deal for Arnaldo Antonio Sanabria Ayala. The Paraguayan striker, a product of Barcelona’s youth academy, will spend one season at the Spanish club, with the deal expiring on June 30, 2016,” a statement on the club’s official website read.

The former Sassuolo player made just two appearances for the Giallorossi last season, both as a substitute. Sanabria’s debut came when he replaced Roma legend Francesco Totti during a 2-1 victory away at Cagliari in February while the striker also featured in the goalless draw with Parma at the Stadio Olimpico.
