Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has reportedly earmarked Galatasaray’s Burak Yilmaz as an alternative target if he fails to pull off the expected signing of Edin Dzeko from Manchester City.

The Giallorossi have been repeatedly linked with the 29-year-old Bosnian striker, however a fee is yet to be agreed with the Premier League club and Sabatini is said to be planning a contingency plan in case the deal falls through.

According to Sportitalia, Yilmaz’s agent is in Italy to discuss potential deals for his 30-year-old client, however Roma will only be interested if they cannot complete the deal for Dzeko.

Roma have reportedly agreed personal terms with Dzeko but are struggling to reach an agreement with City over his transfer fee.

Turkey international Yilmaz has scored 56 goals in 86 appearances for Cimbom while the Bosnian international Dzeko has scored 50 in 150 appearances for City since joining from Wolfsburg in 2011.
