Eder - Sampdoria v InterSampdoria won 5-2 against Carpi at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa on Sunday night in Serie A.

Most of the goals came in the first half with Eder and Luis Muriel scoring two goals each and Fernando scoring the other for Walter Zenga’s side. Andrea Lazzari got one back in the first half and Ryder Matos got another consolation goal near the end.

Il Doria completely dominated the first half and scored goals for fun. Carpi defender Gaetano Letizia fouled Muriel in the penalty box and Eder scored from the spot after 14 minutes.

Muriel made it 2-0 seven minutes later after running onto Eder’s through-ball, turning Nicolas Spolli inside out, and beating Brkic with an angled drive that should have been better controlled.

The goals were starting to fly in and the Doriani made it 3-0 after 31 minutes. Mattia Cassani’s low cross from the right wing found Muriel, who struck the ball first time and Brkic had no chance to save it.

Two minutes later, Sampdoria scored their fourth goal. Eder dribbled past Filippo Porcari and hit a shot from long range at Brkic, who let the ball slip past him.

It got worse for the debutants as Serie A debutant Fernando made it 5-0 for Il Doria after 37 minutes. Eder dummied his run and the central midfielder curled a free-kick that hit the crossbar but the ball bounced over the line.

Carpi got one back thanks to Lazzari a minute later, receiving a cross from the left wing, controlling the ball with his first touch and shooting with his second.

Sampdoria slowed the tempo in the second half and Carpi showed more attacking verve, especially when Antonio Di Gaudio came on.

Antonio Cassano came on for Muriel after 75 minutes on his return to the Blucerchiati and David Ivan was sent-off after 81 minutes after receiving his second yellow card for fouling Gabriel Silva.

Matos scored with a bending shot after 88 minutes after cutting-in and dribbling past Vasco Regini to pull it back to 5-2. Lazzari could have made it 5-3 but Viviano saved his penalty.
