Walter Zenga- SampdoriaSampdoria‘s coach was clearly pleased after his team earned a 2-2 draw against Napoli at the San Paolo on Sunday evening in Serie A.

Although clearly outplayed and falling behind to two goals by Gonzalo Higuain at half time, the Blucerchiati came out a different team after the break and not only tied the match with two goals by in-form forward Eder, but also had good chances to take all three points.

“At the end of the first half, the guys realized what they were doing wrong and did well to correct that,” Zenga told reporters after the match.

“They showed great character and that is when you start having fun while playing.

The 55-year-old pointed out that his squad has performed outstandingly given the sturdy competition provided by other Serie A teams.

“In Italy every game is difficult.

“In the first week we won 5-2 against Capri that has now made life difficult for Inter.

“All of our players have been good and if they play like they know they can have fun.

“I have a squad full of professionals who leave their problems behind before they step on the field

“We have players like Eder, [Luis] Muriel, and [Roberto] Soriano and we want to keep them.”
