Sampdoria have been dealt a blow in their efforts to sign Napoli defender Juan Camilo Zuniga.

The Colombian international has been linked with a move to the Blucerchiati recently and a deal was expected to happen as they prepared to submit an offer for him.

Rai Sport report, however, that nothing is finalised yet as Napoli’s asking price of around €3.5 million is too expensive for Sampdoria which has caused negotiations between both parties to stutter.

Should Zuniga leave Maurizio Sarri’s side, Sampdoria might have to battle with Turkish side Galatasaray for his signature if they don’t finish up the contract talks soon.

Zuniga has been a Partenopei player since 2009 and has appeared 162 times for them, scoring four goals and also winning the Coppa Italia twice.

He spent a season at then Serie A side Siena before moving to Napoli.
