Paulo Sousa spoke about progressing with Fiorentina in the upcoming Serie A season, but declined to talk about individuals.

Fiorentina edged out Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge thanks to a tap in goal from skipper Gonzalo Rodriguez.

”I’m glad the players are playing very well,” Sousa said during his press conference following the win.

”Hopefully we can build from this and carry on winning.”

On Fiorentina’s plans for the season, Sousa spoke of the type of football he wishes to play: ”I want us to progress and be competitive.’

”We want to enjoy the football that we play and that’s our main objective.

”The soul of football is the supporters, so we want them to also enjoy watching us when we play.”

Sousa closed out the press conference speaking about the win over Chelsea and the transfer market: ”It was a good victory.’

”Marcos Alonso and Gonzalo Rodriguez were our best players today.

”However I don’t wish to talk about individuals as I’m happy about the entire squad.

”Some players perform better than others in matches, that happens. There is a good understanding in the group, so we focus not on individuals, but the team as a whole.”
