Doumbia - Roma v GenoaWest Bromwich Albion have emerged as surprise contenders for out-of-favor Roma striker Seydou Doumbia.

The 27-year-old Ivorian international has been put on the market by the Giallorossi after a disappointing six months with the club, since transferring from CSKA Moscow in January.

The expected arrival of Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko will further push Doumbia down the pecking order, and will be offloaded if an appropriate offer arrives.

Sport Italia report that West Brom have sounded out Roma in recent days about possibly bringing Doumbia to the Hawthorns for the upcoming season.

With star forward Saido Berahino continually linked with an exit to Tottenham Hotspur, West Brom coach Tony Pulis believes Doumbia would be the perfect addition to add more firepower to his side.

Doumbia only netted two goals in 13 appearances for the Giallorossi since joining at the start of the year.
