Westermann desperate for Juventus move
The 31-year-old German international is a currently a free agent after being deciding not to renew his deal with Hamburg last season, and reports in recent days suggested he was on the verge of a move to the Bianconeri.
The Old Lady have been decimated by injuries in the rearguard, as Leonardo Bonucci is currently their only available central defender for their Super Cup clash against Lazio this week, and coach Massimiliano Allegri is keen on bringing extra bodies in.
“Joining Juventus would be a great honor,” Westermann told Tuttosport.
“Since I rescinded my deal with my former club I have received several offers, but right now my desire is to have an experience abroad.
“To possibly be able to do that with one of the most important and prestigious teams in the world like Juventus would not be bad at all.”
