Heiko Westermann is desperate for a move to Juventus, saying it “would be a great honor” to join the Italian champions.
The 31-year-old German international is a currently a free agent after being deciding not to renew his deal with Hamburg last season, and reports in recent days suggested he was on the verge of a move to the Bianconeri.
The Old Lady have been decimated by injuries in the rearguard, as Leonardo Bonucci is currently their only available central defender for their Super Cup clash against Lazio this week, and coach Massimiliano Allegri is keen on bringing extra bodies in.

“Since Irescinded my deal with myformerclubI have received several offers, but right nowmy desireis tohave an experienceabroad.
“To possiblybe ableto do that withone of themost important and prestigiousteamsin the worldlike Juventuswould not bebad at all.”
