Inter despite their slow start to the season.
Tassotti was assistant at Milan until Sinisa Mihajlovic took over at the start of the season although he is still at the club in the scouting department and Tassotti is confident in Milan’s young defence.
“I believe AC Milan have the quality and ability to beat Inter,” Tassotti told Milan Channel.
“The derby is a special and magical game. The stadium is always full and there is a great atmosphere.
“Milan and Inter have changed a lot this summer and the Nerazzurri have started the season strongly.
“It is normal for a team like Milan, who have a lot of new players, to start the season slowly.
“Even though we did not play well against Empoli it was important to get the three points.
“Against Fiorentina [Alessio] Romagnoli and [Rodrigo] Ely found it difficult.
“But they are young and will improve during the season.”
