Massimo Ambrosini won four Serie A titles, and two Champions League titles to go along with 489 appearances for AC Milan. Safe to say his experience will help out the youthful Viola.

Former AC Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini believes that the Rossoneri are on the right path under new coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The 38-year-old, of whom made 489 appearances for Milan in all competitions, has acknowledged that there are still some teething problems under the Serbian tactician, but is confident that they have the potential to improve.

“He [Mihajlovic] is going down the right path in terms of the side’s improvement,” said Ambrosini to Sky Sport Italia.

“He still has a number of things to work on, such as the movement and fluidity of the team, as well as the occasional defensive errors.

“But overall it is clear that there is a lot of potential.”

Milan have started this season in rather inconsistent fashion, losing two of their opening four fixtures, one coming against rivals Inter in the Derby della Madonnina.

They currently sit in ninth position on six points as they prepare to take on Udinese on Tuesday evening.
