Carpi could be set to part company with Fabrizio Castori and appoint Giuseppe Sannino as coach.

It was only months ago that Castori guided the Biancorossi to the Serie B title as the minnows sealed an historic promotion to the top-flight of Italian football, but speculation is mounting that there is pressure on the 61-year-old in the wake of their 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Roma on Saturday.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Watford coach Sannino is the prime candidate being lined up to replace Castori should the Biancorossi decide to part company with the former Cesena coach if results do not improve.

Sannino was in charge of the Hornets from December 2013 but resigned just five games into the 2013/14 campaign amid dressing room unrest despite the club sitting second in the Championship table at the time.
