Rolando MaranChievo coach Rolando Maran was satisfied with the way his team played in the 1-1 Serie A draw against Sassuolo away from home on Sunday afternoon.

The Flying Donkeys found an equaliser through Alberto Paloschi’s fourth goal of the season after falling behind early on a goal by Gregoire Defrel, but were perhaps a little lucky that another Defrel goal in the first half was ruled off for offside.

“I think that the draw is the most fair result, for the last 30 minutes the two teams cancelled each other’s efforts for a winner,” Maran told Radio Rai after the match.

“In the end a little tiredness was apparent – three matches in the span of seven days were felt.

Former Juventus winger Simone Pepe made his first start for Chievo after three substitute appearances in previous weeks and Maran is impressed with the player.

“I was pleased, he trains very well,” Maran said about his player.

“I am convinced that by the end of the season he will give us a big hand.”
